FAH’s Chip Kahn and FAH Member Executives Recognized by Modern Healthcare on the Prestigious ‘100 Most Influential’ List

Washington, D.C. (December 8, 2025) – The Federation of American Hospitals is honored to have FAH President and CEO Chip Kahn and our member executives recognized on this year’s Modern Healthcare “100 Most Influential” list. This prestigious program recognizes individuals deemed by the senior editors of Modern Healthcare to be the most influential figures in the industry for leadership and impact.

This is Chip Kahn’s 24th appearance on the Modern 100 list – making him the only person to appear each year since the program started in 2002.

The following FAH member executives appeared on this year’s list:

  • Marty Bonick, President and CEO of Ardent Health
  • Samuel Hazen, CEO of HCA Healthcare
  • Dr. Saum Sutaria, Chair and CEO of Tenet Healthcare
  • Dr. Sunny Bhatia, President and Chief Medical Officer of Prime Healthcare

In this year’s publication, Modern Healthcare’s editors said, “Kahn has served as the head of the Federation of American Hospitals — and appeared on the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare list — for nearly 25 years. Although he announced in June he would retire from FAH at the end of 2025, this year he continued to push for policies that would benefit the trade association’s thousands of for-profit hospital members.”

This year, Modern Healthcare also featured a longer interview with Chip Kahn as part of the 2025 100 Most Influential edition. You can see Modern Healthcare’s 2025 100 Most Influential People in Health Care list by clicking here
