The FAH wrote a letter of support for S.2759/H.R. 5283, the bipartisan Healthcare Workforce Resilience Act, which was introduced this week in the House by Representatives Don Bacon (R-NE-02) and Brad Schneider (D-IL-10) and in the Senate by Senators Kevin Cramer (R-ND) and Dick Durbin (D-IL). The bill would respond to the healthcare worker shortage by recapturing 40,000 unused employment-based visas and reallocating them to expedite the visa processing for foreign-trained, qualified doctors and nurses. This legislation will help strengthen the health care workforce and improve access to care for patients across the country.
