Liz Schwartz

Senior Vice President, Head of Government Relations

Liz Schwartz has joined the Federation of American Hospitals as Senior Vice President and Head of Government Relations, where she will lead FAH’s federal government relations efforts. In this role, Liz will oversee the Government Relations team’s engagement with policymakers and stakeholders, help drive the organization’s priorities across key policy areas, and further strengthen FAH’s advocacy on behalf of its members.

Liz brings a strong understanding of the political and policy challenges facing FAH members, along with deep experience in health care advocacy. She joins FAH after nearly a decade in the biopharmaceutical industry, where she played a key role in advancing important advocacy initiatives.

Earlier in her career, Liz served in the U.S. Senate, including as Health Subcommittee Staff Director for former Senator Mike Enzi (R-WY) on the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee. She also managed health care policy issues for Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI). Prior to her Senate service, Liz held government relations roles in the physician specialty community and at other organizations.

Liz has a proven ability to develop thoughtful strategies in complex policy environments and to identify opportunities to move key priorities forward. Her leadership will be a major asset as FAH continues to advance policies that support tax-paying hospitals and the patients and families they serve.
