Ms. Tenoever serves as lead counsel on legal, regulatory and legislative policy issues involving such matters as compliance and fraud and abuse, antitrust, hospital accreditation, privacy and security, Medicare billing, expanded access to health care coverage, managed care, medical liability, tax and labor. She is responsible for helping to shape and implement advocacy strategies on these and related issues important to the FAH membership.
She also staffs the Federation’s Legal & Operational Policy Committee and the Medicaid & Managed Care Committee, and assists with the Audit, Ethics, Compliance & Administrative Affairs Committee. In her role as FAH General Counsel, Ms. Tenoever provides guidance on various operational matters, including lobbying disclosures, Federal Election Commission reporting, Congressional ethics rules, employment, and contracts.
Prior to joining the FAH, Ms. Tenoever worked with the American Medical Association in various categories, most recently as Senior Washington Counsel. Previously, Ms. Tenoever was a health care attorney for Washington, DC-based law firms Winston & Strawn, and Dyer, Ellis, Joseph & Mills. She also served as Legislative Counsel for the Transportation, Tourism and Hazardous Materials Subcommittee of the U.S. House of Representatives’ Committee on Energy and Commerce.
Ms. Tenoever received a J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center and is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Cincinnati, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science.
