The Federation of American Hospitals is pleased to announce the addition of John Funderburk as Senior Vice President, External Affairs. John will join the Federation on November 15th.

With more than 20 years of experience spearheading public affairs campaigns and health care advocacy programs, John brings a unique perspective of the intersection of politics and policy. John has a track record of success and will be a great value add for the Federation’s members as well as the patients we serve,” said Chip Kahn, FAH President and CEO.
John’s new role includes responsibility for the advocacy and coalition strategy for the Federation. John also oversees all digital and creative functions for FAH, as well as manages the public affairs team.
During his career, John has held a wide range of positions both in politics and with health care stakeholder groups. He most recently served as Vice President, Advocacy for the Alzheimer’s Association, and before that worked at the American Medical Association as Regional Political Director. Additionally, John worked in the Clinton Administration and for Senator Earnest Hollings, from his home state of South Carolina.
