FAH President and CEO Chip Kahn released the following statement after the House passed H.R. 5378, the Lower Costs, More Transparency Act: 

“This is no time for so-called ‘site neutral’ Medicare cuts that could harm beneficiaries, which is why it is vital for lawmakers to ultimately drop the policy from this bill. 

“As we look ahead to critical funding deadlines in January, FAH urges Members of Congress to prioritize access to hospital care for patients by not only protecting Medicare, but also strengthening the health care safety net by delaying DSH cuts for two years.”
