It was recently announced that HCA Healthcare’s Dr. Jim Jiris was appointed by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to serve another term on HHS’ Health Information Technology Advisory Committee (HITAC). HCA Healthcare is a member of FAH. 

Dr. Jirjis is the Vice President & Chief Health Information Officer of the Clinical Services Group at HCA Healthcare and leads the company’s clinical informatics strategy.  

HITAC, which was established in the 21st Century Cures Act, represents diverse views in the health industry and provides recommendations to the federal government relating to the implementation of a health information technology infrastructure, nationally and locally. The aim of HITAC is to advance access, exchange and use of health information for providers and patients across the health care continuum.
