“Americans cannot afford failure” – FAH Urges Bipartisan Action to Swiftly Extend Health Care Tax Credits

Washington, D.C. (December 11, 2025) – The Federation of American Hospitals (FAH) issued the following statement on the need to pass a bipartisan solution extending the health care tax credits:

“As we approach the holidays, millions of Americans living paycheck to paycheck face a disastrous choice: take on debt to afford skyrocketing premiums or risk going without coverage entirely. Congress cannot leave their constituents in this bind.

“We’re grateful for the leadership of lawmakers who have come to the table and crafted bipartisan proposals to deliver relief for families across the country. Americans cannot afford failure – now is not the time for partisan exercises; now is the time to get a pragmatic solution across the finish line and immediately extend the health care tax credits.” – Charlene MacDonald, FAH Executive Vice President, Public Affairs
