FAH Supports Sen. Hawley Bill Opposing Medicaid Cuts

Last week, FAH wrote a letter of support for S. 2279, the Protect Medicaid and Rural Hospitals Act. Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) introduced this bill to help mitigate the disproportionate burden that OBBBA’s Medicaid cuts place on rural communities by repealing the sections of the reconciliation bill related to state directed payments and provider taxes. Additionally, the bill would double the Rural Health Transformation Fund by investing another $50 billion to be paid out over an additional five years.
