In May, 2008, the Federation of American Hospitals (FAH), in conjunction with the Council on Health Care Economics and Policy and Health Affairs, organized, presented, and, with other organizations, co-sponsored the 15th Annual Princeton Conference: “Can Payment and Other Innovations Improve the Quality and Value of Health Care?”
The Conference examined efforts to link health care payment reform with quality and value; expectations about health care quality and delivery; and the effectiveness of our current tools to measure quality and delivery. It also explored whether Americans are getting improved health care quality in the wake of the Institute of Medicine’s seminal report, “Crossing the Quality Chasm,” which concludes that the fragmented health care delivery system in the U.S. is one of the primary causes of health care quality concerns.
A special edition of the FAH’s Hospital Outlook newsletter (summer, 2008) summarizes several key presentations that took place at the Conference. Click here to view the Hospital Outlook Special Edition.
